Interview with Lee Strasberg. Performance segments from class of The Actors Studio at the Lee Strasberg Acting Institute. Strasberg: "our school has principles but no rules the "method" is a basic means of solving actors' problems." He teaches a class at Actors Studio, a lesson on walking, and analyzes two students rehearsing a scene from Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya."

Lee Strasberg was a Polish-born American actor, director, and theatre practitioner. He co-founded, with directors Harold Clurman and Cheryl Crawford, the Group Theatre in 1931, which was hailed as "America's first true theatrical collective". Margaret Croyden is a well-known critic, commentator, and journalist whose articles on theatre and the arts have appeared in "The New York Times," "The Village Voice," "The Nation," "The American Theatre Magazine," "Antioch Review," "Texas Quarterly," "Transatlantic Review" and other publications.
