MARI VELONAKI
Art finding emotion in robotics.
She has worked in the field of interactive installation art for over eight years, and is currently an artist/researcher at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics, an ARC Centre of Excellence in Autonomous Systems, Sydney. Recent achievements in intelligent systems research and their application in enhancing human performance have greatly influenced the development, not only of next generation robots, but also the next generation of humans. Through a major collaboration with a team of roboticists from the Australian Centre for Field Robotics (ACFR) in Sydney, Velonakis’ latest project investigates ongoing issues regarding dialogue through human/machine interfaces.

Mari Velonaki is a media artist who has worked in the field of interactive installation art since 1995.
